Neuro Conditions

A neurological condition refers to any disorder of the nervous system. There are over 600 known conditions that affect the human nervous system and as many personal impacts as there are people who have a neurological condition. Everyone’s experience and needs are different depending on how severe their condition is, and whether their symptoms fluctuate, are stable or changing. How it can impact the person can also depend on whether the places they live or visit are accessible and also what help or equipment they need and have available.

Some conditions will affect the person physically making it difficult to walk or use their arms. Other conditions can impact a person’s cognition affecting, for example, their thinking, memory or communication. Some people may have sensory changes such as vision or hearing loss as a result of their neurological condition or a combination of all of the above.
