Motorised wheelchairs, also known as powered or electric wheelchairs, provide the highest level of independence and convenience. They have a lever on the armrest to control the speed and direction, the inclusion of a motor makes navigating slopes easy, while the small turning circle allows use indoors and out.
Motorised wheelchairs reach a maximum speed of around 5km hour, allowing you to engage in activities at walking speed. They take up less space than a mobility scooter and are more maneuverable, making them more suited to use indoors.
